My paintings are acknowledgements of real and imaginary moments that make me want to hold my breath. They are attempts to capture the purity and stillness of an idle moment spent alongside my wife, or more recently the mental gymnastics required to navigate mortality and loss. My paintings function like miniature stage-sets. They are painted from observation and depict handmade objects, oftentimes organized atop my bedside table. The images function like an open door to a quiet room for which you can peek in, or a still photo of a play halfway through.
